Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport where your guide awaits. Transfer north to Anuradhapura — Sri Lanka's first ancient capital. Evening check-in and a gentle orientation walk around the outer precinct of Ruwanwelisaya Stupa.

A full day exploring the sacred city. Visit Sri Maha Bodhi — the oldest documented tree on earth, revered for over 2,300 years. Continue to Thuparama Dagoba, the Isurumuniya rock temple, and the great Jetavanaramaya stupa complex.

Drive east to Polonnaruwa, the medieval capital. Explore the Royal Palace complex, the stunning Gal Vihara — four colossal Buddha figures carved from a single granite face — and the elaborate Vatadage circular relic house.

The centrepiece of the tour — Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Ascend 1,200 steps past ancient frescoes and the famous Mirror Wall to reach the 5th-century royal citadel perched 200 metres above the jungle plain.

Visit the Dambulla Royal Cave Temple — Sri Lanka's largest and best-preserved cave temple complex, housing over 150 Buddha statues across five magnificent gilded caves.

Scenic drive through Sri Lanka's lush interior to Kandy. En-route visit Matale Hindu Temple and a traditional batik workshop. Evening visit to the sacred Sri Dalada Maligawa — Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic.

Morning at leisure to explore the Kandy Botanical Gardens. After a final Sri Lankan breakfast, transfer back to Bandaranaike International Airport for your onward journey.
